Details and prices of Pocket Wi-Fi for Switzerland

We now have the first glimpse of all the prices available among the various companies offering the Pocket Wi-Fi service. When traveling, maintaining a good Wi-Fi connection will be vital at all times during the journey, no one can deny that.

But, now that you know what the options are, it’s best to get to know everything these companies have to offer before renting a pocket Wi-Fi. As there are details that are not visible to the naked eye.

Travelers WiFi

Travelers Wi-Fi has proven to be one of the best options for Pocket Wi-Fi in Switzerland. Best of all, this company also provides its service in other countries as well. So, you can enjoy it in other places if you are visiting more than one country.

One important thing to mention is that Travelers Wi-Fi offers pocket Wi-Fi service for a very affordable price. For 62.90 dollars per week, you can have access to unlimited internet with a good speed, as long as you do not exceed the consumption limit. And the best thing is that if you check the price per day, it does not exceed 9 dollars!

Something that is also surprising about the company is that they rent out extra accessories such as chargers and PowerBanks for a better experience. These accessories can be rented for no more than $14.15 dollars both, and $5.20 (Vehicle charger) to $8.95 (PowerBank) dollars each.

In addition, we can see that Travelers Wi-Fi has a competitive shipping rate, with a price of no more than $4.60 dollars. All of this can be paid for via PayPal and credit or debit cards.

Now, everything has to have a downside. If you lose a Traveler’s Wi-Fi device, you will have to pay a total of 159.14 dollars to the company. So be careful while you’re on the road with equipment rented from the company. Finally, remember that you can only connect up to 5 devices per rented Pocket.

Cello Mobile

Cello Mobile is a company that has been offering a variety of services for several years in practically all parts of the world. A few years ago, they also added Pocket Wi-Fi to their services, and Switzerland is one of the destinations on their list where the service works.

One of the important features of Cello Mobile is its flat rates. As for other countries, Pocket Wi-Fi in Switzerland will cost $104.93 per week, or about $14.99 per day, if you want to look at it that way. The service is unlimited. Although, after a certain amount of consumption, it will drop to a slightly slower speed. Also, remember that you can only have up to 5 devices connected to each Pocket you rent.

Cello Mobile offers an insurance service for the equipment that is recommended to be purchased for 14.99 dollars. Which could save us from paying 75 dollars in case of losing the device, as it is a fixed penalty for everyone.

Now, as far as shipping is concerned, we can say that the northern part of the American continent has a preference. As it has a shipping fee ranging from 10 to 30 dollars. On the other hand, in the rest of the world, the shipping is 75 dollars, this being a flat rate. You can pay for all of this with either credit or debit cards at Cello Mobile.

Travel WiFi (Wifivox)

Spanish company Wifivox decided to make a complete change and now, known as Travel Wi-Fi, they have proven to be able to maintain the quality for which they were renowned in the past.

One important thing worth mentioning is that Travel Wi-Fi maintains a flat rate for the rental of their portable Wi-Fi. For a whole week, you would pay $71.30 USD. It’s a good price; however, the service is not unlimited. And you will have to pay for additional data consumption. On the upside, you can still connect up to 5 devices to the Pocket Wi-Fi.

Moving on to shipping, this is something that changes quite a bit. Within Europe, there are rates starting at $3 USD. While in the rest of the world, it can be up to 30 dollars. The good thing is that you have several payment methods available. Such as debit cards, credit cards, and also payments through Braintree.

Like other companies, if the equipment is lost, the person will have to pay a penalty ranging from around 169.38 to 226.21 dollars. So better be careful during the whole trip.

iSpot Connect

Native to Switzerland, iSpot Connect is one of the best options for renting a Pocket Wi-Fi in Switzerland.

Their pricing is quite competitive, offering their weekly plans for a price of $74.90 USD, which would be $10.7 USD per day. They also have no consumption limits, which is quite a great perk.

All iSpot Connect equipment allows 5-10 devices to be connected at the same time. Which is a better feature than what is offered by other companies.

Although people can request their device to be shipped first, they do so via mail. So, it might not be a very good option.

Regarding payment, you can pay by international credit card or bank transfer. Although the site does not state that there is any penalty for losing your device, they generally charge between 113.67 to 170.51 dollars per loss, so keep that in mind.

My Webspot

France-based My Webspot is another option for travelers may have when traveling to Switzerland and wanting to keep their internet connection active via Pocket Wi-Fi.

As for pricing, the weekly rental is about $75.38 USD, which is a bit more than 10 dollars per day. As to connection, 1 GB of consumption is offered per day, so it is not an unlimited service.

My Webspot devices allow up to 5 people to be connected simultaneously, making it a good option for group travel. As for deliveries, these are priced between $5.60 to $11.32 USD, depending on where you are located.

Concerning penalties, people will have to pay up to 204.61 dollars per loss. If you have insurance, the amount to pay is reduced to 102.31 dollars, which is still a bit high.

The last thing worth mentioning is that people can make payments via credit card, Stripe, and PayPal.

Similar options to Pocket Wi-Fi in Switzerland

We may think that the Pocket Wi-Fi options in Switzerland are good, but there are several things to keep in mind. Due to the price, the loss of commitment, among other things, it can be a bit of a hassle to get one of these devices.

The good thing is that you can choose more options to stay connected, there is nothing to worry about.

In this case, we’re talking about the famous SIM cards that everyone has come to have at some point. Plus, there’s a new addition to the family, the eSIM, which is also a viable option for travelers looking for connectivity without accessing international roaming.

Data SIM card

While it’s true that your phone will always have a SIM card, every time you travel to a new country you’ll need to buy a new one. The good news is that they are inexpensive, and companies such as Holafly offer these cards at a great price and with a number of special features.

The first thing we can say is that with a prepaid SIM card you can stay connected in countless countries, and best of all, their rates are hard to beat.  This option is also a recommended alternative to avoid the dreaded roaming in Switzerland.

Data eSIM for Switzerland

As mentioned above, the data eSIM is a new addition. By simply buying one of these cards, you will be able to connect to the internet at a high speed and in a very convenient way.

Perhaps the most complicated part is setting up the eSIM. But all you have to do is wait for your card information to arrive at your inbox, scan a QR code, and you’re ready to use it.

Plus, it’s a good way to save money because of the fees. Again, Holafly is a great option for acquiring this type of card. Not only because of their prices and plans, but also because of the connectivity and convenience they offer.

Free Wi-Fi

While it is true that when you travel you may come across free Wi-Fi, sometimes it is not advisable to use it.

You’ve probably already heard this a million times, but your information can be stolen, and even hack your phone. Also, in some cases, these connections are not very good.

That is why we recommend having an option that is not only fast but secure and reliable, as Holafly services.
