A clear example of this is Italy, a paradisiac country that lots of people love to visit. But, while visiting Italy, we can’t forget about something so important as the roaming Italy service.

Traveling there seems like a dream for most people, but they can’t forget about one thing that is quite important: the way they will communicate with others. So, whether you are spending your vacations in Venice, going on a family trip to Milan, this will surely catch your attention.

Roaming Italy alternatives: Two options that can save your life and money

We know a roaming service might be the best alternative for people out there. But, let’s be honest, it can turn into a pretty expensive alternative, and when traveling, people might want to save as much money as they can.

That’s why we will talk about two alternatives that are quite useful for travelers: the SIMs and eSIMs cards, as well as other alternatives such as pocket WiFi devices and free WiFi connections.

Unlimited data eSIM card

Chances are that you haven’t heard about eSIMs in the past, and that’s completely ok. But today, we will talk about it as one of the alternatives travelers can take with them basically wherever they go to, which is pretty great.

But that’s not all people should know about eSIMs because there are a lot of other things that should be known. And, that’s what we are about to talk about. In case, after reading this, you decide to give an eSIM a try, go ahead and give the Holafly eSIMs cards, as you will have the following:

  1. The chance to save some money due to its price.
  2. No need to go to an agency to activate the eSIM.
  3. A good coverage wherever you go to.
  4. You will have Unlimited data
  5. Access to customer support whenever you need it.
  6. You will get an eSIM number from Holafly to use when traveling.

Pocket WiFi

In the past, people were used to renting these devices for them to have an internet connection while traveling around the world. Even though these devices are not the main option for people nowadays, travelers still have them as a choice that can be quite helpful.

To use these devices, people will only need to rent one through a company, tell them for how long they want to use it, and simply enjoy the service it offers. But beware, the price is higher than other alternatives.

Free WiFi

Free WiFi, let’s be honest, who doesn’t like to have free WiFi on their phones and computers? Well, this is something people can also get while traveling around the world, which is great. But, it is not always the best idea for travelers who need a constant internet connection.

But, it can be useful in some cases, like when you are staying at your hotel, in a restaurant or something similar. To make things easier for you, we recommend using Avast Wi-Fi, WiFi Map, or WinMan to help you with your wifi connection search.

We have talked a bit about the mobile operators we can use when traveling. But, what about the important details of each of them?

T-Mobile Roaming Italy service

T-Mobile is a pretty solid company that has been around for quite some time. Nowadays, they offer three different plans to their clients, the Essentials, Magenta, and Magenta Plus plans.

The Essentials plan is pretty basic; it only offers 3G mobile data with unlimited text messages and phone calls. On the other hand, the Magenta and Magenta Plus are premium services, offering 4G mobile data as well as text messages and phone calls.

Verizon Roaming Italy service

For people who want to travel to Europe, Verizon has two options prepared for them. The International Pass, which gives users access to the roaming service, costs 10$ per day.

On the other hand, we have the International Monthly Pass, which costs 100$ per month and gives access to more benefits to those who pay for the service.

AT&T Roaming Italy Service

AT&T is quite similar to Verizon as it only offers two different types of roaming services. The first one is the International Pass which will give access to the roaming Italy service for 10$ a day.

The other service offered by the company is the International Calling Plan, which costs 15$ per line/month, but it is a service more focused on customers who need to make lots of phone calls while traveling.

Are you a customer of one of the UK mobile operators? No need to worry about it; now it’s time to talk about what they offer.

O2 Roaming Italy service

O2 is one of the most amazing services people can find in Europe. Not only the service in the UK is pretty solid, but it also offers a pretty decent roaming service, at no extra cost, as long as you don’t consume more than 25GB of mobile data per month.

Three Roaming Italy service

Three is also part of the list of services travelers can use when they need a roaming service. They offer people low prices on roaming plans, which is great.

For people who want to go to Italy, the roaming service costs 2.30$ per day, which is pretty low and accessible for most people.

Vodafone Roaming Italy service

Now, it’s time to talk about Vodafone and what they offer to their customers. Gladly, for those who have an Unlimited or Limited Xtreme Plan, the service is completely free.

This is something great as it allows people to save some money, but remember, if you don’t have any of those plans, you will have to pay 2.30$ per day to use the service.

How to activate roaming with the different mobile operators in the U.S

So far, we have talked about each one of the services we can use when traveling, as well as other alternatives people can use. But, if I choose to use the roaming service of a mobile operator, how can I activate it?

T-Mobile roaming activation

T-Mobile is one of the companies that make things as easy as they can for its customers. For those who want to use their roaming service, the only thing they need to do is to make a phone call dialing #RON# or #ROF#, and enjoy the service.

Verizon roaming activation

For Verizon users, things are still quite simple. But, the service takes a bit more to be completed. To activate the Verizon roaming service people must go to their “Mobile Data” option in their settings, and then click on the “Roaming” button to activate or deactivate the service.

Verizon also offers an easy way to activate the roaming service, but it has some more steps than T-Mobile. People will need to go to their settings, find the “Mobile Data” option, and then activate or deactivate the “Roaming” option.

AT&T roaming activation

AT&T works in the same way as Verizon. So, if you want to activate the roaming service of this company, go to the “Mobile Data” menu on your phone, and click on the “Roaming” option to activate it.

How to activate roaming with the different mobile operators in the UK

Now, and to close things up, it’s time to talk about the activation process for each one of the UK mobile operators we have available.

O2 roaming activation

02 reminds us of the T-Mobile activation process, but we can say it is even simpler. People will only need to send a text message to 23336 with “O2TRAVEL” written on it to activate the roaming service.

Three roaming activation

For Three clients, they will need to go ahead and make the activation manually by activating the roaming service on the “Mobile Data” menu. Once it’s done, the service will be ready to be used.

Vodafone roaming activation

Now, the last service on our list is Vodafone. For Vodafone customers, there are two ways to activate the roaming service within minutes. The first one is by logging in to the Vodafone website and activating it through the customer’s profile. The other choice is to make a phone call to 199 and ask customer support to activate it for you.
