Details and rates of Portable WiFi for South Africa

You know the prices of the service offered by companies. But, what about the rest of the information people needs to know when renting a Pocket WiFi device? That’s something most travelers tend to forget, but this won’t be the case.

We will talk about the details and prices each company has, so pay attention as you might need to remember some things for the future.

Travelers WiFi

The first company we have to talk about here is Travelers WiFi, which is located in Switzerland.

The company offers the Pocket WiFi South Africa service without inconveniences. The only thing people need to know is that the renting price, is $84.85 for a week, with limited mobile data even though the company says they offer unlimited 3G connection.

If you are not in Switzerland or aren’t planning to go there to pick up the device, people can still ask for the delivery service. With Travelers WiFi, the delivery prices vary from 4 to 34 USD depending on the location of people.

The last thing to mention here is something quite important people must know. When renting a device, losing or damaging it will make the company make an extra charge to people. In this case, people who lose or damage the device have to pay $159 immediately.

MioWiFi

For people located in Latin America, MioWiFi is a company located in Argentina offering the Pocket WiFi service.

This company offers service basically to all over the world, and obviously, South Africa is part of the countries in which the service is available. For people who want to rent a device with MioWiFi, the price to pay is $64.

MioWiFi will also give people the chance to receive the device they rented in their houses or offices for an extra price. In this case, the company charges around 40 to 50 USD depending on where people are located.

Something we can’t forget to mention is something related to the terms and conditions of MioWiFi. People must keep this in mind because if they lose or damage a device of the company, it will charge them $260 that the person who rented it must pay.

Travel WiFi

For people who are based in Spain, and some countries of Europe, this company might sound familiar as they were known as Wifivox before.

The company hasn’t changed much, as they still offer the Pocket WiFi service to most countries around the world. In this case, the Pocket WiFi South Africa can be rented for $62.65 for a week of usage. The device will come with 1GB of mobile data per day, and people can expand their plan but the price is much higher.

As we have seen before, Travel WiFi also has delivery services all around the world. They will charge 2 to 23 USD to people, and the final price will be determined by where people are located.

Once more, time to talk about the most important thing to know about the service they offer. Just as we saw before, Travel WiFi will also make an extra charge to people who lose or damage one of their devices. In this case, the company charges $179 if this happens.

Cello Mobile

In case you are located in the United States, Mexico, or Canada, Cello Mobile might be the closest alternative for you.

Located in the United States, people can rent a device from the company with ease for a price of $104.93 a week. The price might seem a bit high, and it actually is compared to what we have seen before.

As we said at the beginning, if you are located in the USA, Mexico, or Canada, the delivery price is low as it varies from 10 to 30 USD, but if you are anywhere else, the price rises to 75 USD for the delivery service.

Cello Mobile also has its own terms and conditions policies to consider. People who lose or damage a device from them have to pay $75 to the company. It seems lower compared to other services, but this is due to the company making people pay for insurance during the renting process.

My Webspot

The last company on our list is My Webspot and we are back in Europe as they are located in Switzerland.

In case you want to use their service, the renting price for a week is $83.85. What does it include? People will have access to 1GB of mobile data per day, and there’s actually not much to tell here.

Moving forward to talk about the delivery prices, we can see they are lower than compared to the rest of the companies on our list. People have to pay from 4 to 11 USD depending on where they are located when renting the device.

And finally, the last thing people must know is this company also have their own policies. In this case, people will be charged $204 or 102, the price to pay will be determined once the company has checked if the device had insurance or not.

Similar Portable WiFi options in South Africa

So far, we have seen everything related to the Pocket WiFi South Africa service. We already know how much it costs, the delivery rates, and other details. The question now is: Are there other accessible alternatives?

As a matter of fact, there are. People can avoid renting a Pocket WiFi and use a different alternative, such as SIM or eSIM cards, and we’ll tell you why right now.

International SIM Card for South Africa

The first alternative on our list is SIM cards. But not any SIM cards, international SIM cards that people can take to their vacations. Traveling outside your country and staying connected will now be easier than before for sure.

SIM cards have been taking over the market again, as they have been a reliable alternative for quite some time now, and travelers are loving how accessible it is.

In case you want to use one, there’s no need to worry if you think it is hard to get one. Is actually the complete opposite. For example, the Holafly SIM card is easy to get, and its price is lower than people can imagine.

eSIM cards for South Africa

What exactly are eSIMs? Well, for those who don’t know, these are basically digital SIM cards for last-gen devices.

People can now use eSIM cards on cellphones and smartwatches. They are easy to buy and even easier to activate on a device, and that’s why it has become such a good alternative for travelers around the world.

Sounds interesting, right? Well, we have something that might interest you even more, as we have a recommendation for those who want to try them out. The Holafly eSIM for South Africa is surely the best alternative for travelers, so keep that in mind.

Free WiFi

We know that having access to free WiFi is something most people love. It gives people access to the internet, they can easily use their phones and access all their social media platforms, but WiFi networks aren’t always available.

We still mention it as an alternative for people to use, but in some cases, is better to have a backup such as a SIM card or eSIM.
