Airalo eSIM, how to activate it

Activating Airalo’s eSIM is very simple, just follow a few steps inside your cell phone, and that’s it! However, it is important that you consider the following general steps before activating the service:

  • First, you must enter airalo.com or simply install the Airalo app, since it is through them that you will be able to acquire the service.
  • The next step is to find an eSIM for the destination you want to go to. Currently, Airalo has eSIMs for more than 190 countries and regions.
  • Then you will need to complete the purchase of the eSIM of your choice and install it on your phone.

To activate your newly purchased Airalo eSIM on your phone, you can do so in the following ways:

  • Scan the QR code: Navigate to “Settings” > “Cellular/Mobile” > “Add a Cellular/Mobile Plan.” Scan the eSIM QR code that was provided to you and enter a 4-digit confirmation code (if applicable).
  • Add eSIM manually: Navigate to “Settings” > “Cellular/Mobile” > “Add a Cellular/Mobile Plan” > “Enter Details Manually.” Enter in SM-DP, address, and activation code in the required fields. You can find the information for your plan in your purchase confirmation details. Some plans may require a confirmation code as well.

The way you activate your eSIM will depend on the cellphone you use.

Airalo reviews

Knowing what users say about the products is something to consider when deciding whether to take a specific product or not. And in this case, many Airalo users have opinions about the use of the products of this online store. So, here are the following two reviews about Airalo.

  • The first user, who traveled to South Africa, tells the following about her experience:

“Just back from South Africa and the Airalo eSIM worked perfectly throughout – got good speeds, even in the Kruger Park, and it connected straight away. Added a data pack while I was there, and that was easy and quick. Much easier and cheaper than trying to get a local SIM in South Africa as a tourist!”

  • On the other hand, we have another user that says his experience was not good enough:

“On our two iPhones worked Airalo worked nicely driving from Buffalo to D.C., so we tried it in Spain. It took our money and activated both new plans, but neither phone could connect to the internet. Airalo took two full business days just to acknowledge that something was wrong. Their level of competence and assiduity? I sent them screenshots as standard PNG files, then 22 hours later they asked me to send them again because they could not figure out how to open them. I asked for a refund and was refused.”

Airalo alternatives

As we were able to analyze, Airalo has both advantages and disadvantages when it comes to using its products, specifically the eSIM to stay connected during your travels. So, if after reading all about this online store, you want to know about other alternatives, here we will talk about two other alternatives to maintain an internet connection on your trip.

Buy an International eSIM for travel

If your cellphone is eSIM compatible, and you would like to get one of these products, we recommend Holafly online store. Just like Airalo, this store also offers its eSIM services to have an internet connection during your travels.

Holafly offers its products for a large number of countries on different continents. Likewise, they offer 24-hour customer service, and even in different languages such as Spanish, English, German and French.

On the other hand, Holafly has alliances with the best telecommunications companies around the world. So, you will always be able to connect to the best networks in the country you are visiting. If you are interested in purchasing one of these eSIMs, we recommend you to visit Holafly’s online website, take advantage of the discount code that the company currently has. Get 5% OFF!, through the code: roaming5

International SIM Card

In case your cellphone does not support eSIM technology, or you simply prefer more traditional alternatives. Don’t worry, Holafly also offers an International SIM Card with which you can maintain an internet connection on your trip.

Holafly is known for offering a good service to its customers, so if you purchase one of their SIM cards, it will arrive quickly at your location. In addition, these SIM cards usually come with a phone number of the country you will be visiting, through which you will be able to receive calls. The prices of these SIM cards depend a lot on where you are traveling to; however, they tend to be very inexpensive.
